In this talk, artist, technologist and self-proclaimed professional dreamer Uzoma takes us on a time-bending journey that explores the ancestral internet, an alternative technological paradigm which calls upon the wisdoms of our past to enable us dream progressive African futures. The ancestral internet asks how we might engage the digital as a portal through which we can collectively dream liberated futures and as a vehicle for connecting to our intuitions, our oldest and most intimate technology. Situated within a wider context of African-inspired dreamwork and world building, this talk envisions a de-colonised world rooted in indigenous values of care, community and love and intentionally optimised for the actualisation of our highest selves.
